ABOUT ME.
Courtney Amato is a food photographer born & raised in New York.
Photography runs in Courtney’s blood, so it seemed to be destiny for her to fall in love with the art. Since the moment her parents bought her her first bright yellow Vivitar point & shoot at the age of four, Courtney has strongly abided by the mantra of “keys, phone, wallet, camera” before ever leaving the house. She may have since traded in her retro 80’s camera for a Sony a7ii, but she still shoots with the same childlike wonder she had back then.
After annoying all of her family and friends with her incessant photo taking, Courtney took her talents to Manhattan, where she received a BFA in Photography from School of Visual Arts. Since graduating, she has worked as a freelance photographer with a focus in food photography and styling.
In an ever changing world where social media seems to reign supreme, Courtney used her passion for photography to create New York Scoops, a food centric Instagram account that has since gained over 30k followers. Through this social media platform, she has been able to work with clients such as Dunkin’, MadeGood, Bobo’s, Smashburger, Wink Desserts, Harney & Sons, Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer, Tipsy Scoop, Potbelly Sandwich Shop, and more.
